I am excited to be teaching 2nd grade at St. Charles Catholic School. I am a graduate of The University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.
Previously, I was a teacher’s aide in the Santa Fe Public Schools for 5 years. My most recent experience has been as a pre-K teacher at a private school and as a substitute teacher for Albuquerque Public Schools. I have been teaching religious education for most of my adult life, from preschool through high school levels.
Fundamentally, I believe that class should be a nurturing environment where students are excited to learn. My goal is to create engaging instruction that fosters a love for learning. For this reason, I will use a variety of hands-on activities to reinforce learning concepts. I will also be using a combination of whole group, small group, and one-to-one instruction to better meet the needs of students.
I am eager to help my students develop their faith and to help them become responsible individuals who care for the community and one another.
I am delighted to be part of the St Charles community and I am ready to begin the new school year.
