I am Laura Nuñez. I am proud to be the new Spanish Teacher at St. Charles Borromeo School. I have a bachelor’s degree from UNM and a Master’s degree from San Diego State University. I have been a Spanish teacher and a Bilingual teacher in San Diego. I have also been a Spanish teacher in APS schools and a few Catholic Schools. I love teaching and I try to bring as much of my culture into the classroom as possible. I teach through textbooks, workbooks, and online resources. I want to make the learning environment as exciting and as comfortable as possible. I love to see the joy on my students faces when they are enjoying a particular lesson. Their joy in learning Spanish is the reason why I became a teacher!
My faith is based on daily prayer, my bible study group sessions, and being a choir member in the Spanish choir at Holy Rosary Parish. I feel that my faith is strengthened by attending weekly Mass with students, parents, and staff. During the mass, I feel a strong connection with the Holy Spirit through the students’ readings, receiving communion and hearing Father’s sermon! I am truly blessed to be a teacher at St. Charles Borromeo School!
